How is Youie a Free Service? We believe everyone's creativity is important. We also believe everyone wants to see that creativity. So we have built youie to be an ad supported app, allowing us to provide you the service, while advertisers pay us.

Why no usernames or follow function? Youie is about you and your journey though the world. You don't need to follow other people, you chart your own course. In an effort to make Youie focused on you and not others, we do not have screen names or profiles. This allows you to find what you are looking for, regardless of who uploaded the picture.

Is It Really Free?  Yes, Youie is 100% free—no strings attached.

Why no comment section? Youie is NOT a social media site. We are the Memory Marketplace. We aim to provide you with images that fill in the blanks in your own photo roll, remind you of things you experienced and offer a deeper perspective into the world around you. It's about you, who cares what someone on the internet thinks about a picture you love?

How Does Youie Make Money If It’s Free?  We keep Youie free by incorporating ads with Google AdMob, and we also enable peer-to-peer transactions for users who wish to buy special photos, with Youie taking a small commission.

How do I share pictures? Click on "profile" in the bottom right corner. Click Photos. - If you previously selected "Limited Access" click on "Update Photos" at the top. - If you previously selected "Full Access" Youie will upload your pictures. Click on "Hidden" and select the pictures you want to make public. - If you previously selected "None" for photo access, click "Enable Photo Access" at the top. This will direct you to your settings, click "photos", where you can select "Limited" or "Full" Take a look at our help directory at the bottom of this page for picture based step by step directions.

How Does the Gallery Work?  When a user uploads a photo, we automatically group it into your event based on GPS location, time, and date—no manual adjustments needed. This means every participant’s photos effortlessly become part of the event's collective story.

Is There a Limit to the Number of Photos Uploaded?  No limits here—the more, the better! We encourage you to capture as many moments as possible.

Why didn't my picture upload? We have some rules about what photos make it on to Youie. Only a few though! We do not allow NSFW content, there's plenty of other places on the internet to find those. We also run AI vision on every photo to scan for personal information, inclusive of, but not limited to: Driver licenses, credit cards, passports, bills and legal documents. We only upload images with GPS, so screenshots and saved images from the internet won't upload. It's none of these reasons? You could possibly have GPS turned off in your camera settings. Or, GPS on phone pictures only goes back so far, your picture may predate GPS added to your pictures.

How Does Youie Handle Copyright Issues? Copyright remains with the user who took the photo. Our licensing allows for the person who paid for the download to use it for personal use, including social media and communications, without attribution.

Where is my uploaded picture? When we upload a photo from your phone, we run a few checks on it before we post it. This automated process can take a few seconds to a few minutes. After these checks, your photo may have defaulted to "Hidden" - meaning it is only viewable by you. You can check by going to Profile -> Photos -> "Hidden" or "Public"

Can I Upload Videos, or Is It Photo-Only? Right now, Youie focuses on photos to ensure a smooth, lightweight experience for everyone. Video functionality is on our roadmap, and we’re excited to expand into that area in the future.

Is There a Limit to the Size or Type of Photo Files Uploaded? Youie accepts all standard photo file formats native to the camera on Apple and Android devices. We’ve built our app to handle most file sizes efficiently. No need to worry about resizing or formatting—the upload process is straightforward and user-friendly.

How do I set up an event? Click Events in the bottom tray, Then select "Create." Fill in the details. Be sure to use an exact address for best results. We also recommend adding padding to the time. If your event starts at 10AM, set it for 8AM. If it ends at 2pm, set it to end at 4PM. Take a look at our Help Directory at the bottom of this page for picture step by step.

How Long Are the Photos Available?  Photos are available indefinitely, so your memories are always there when you need them!

How do I add photos to an Event? No need to do anything but upload it. The Youie event feature will automatically group pictures together based on four things: 1. The time the picture was taken is the same time the event settings. 2. The GPS on the photo matches the geographic location of the event. 3. You have joined the event. 4. The picture is in ‘public’ status.

Can there be more then one event at the same location? YES! We have built Youie to allow for small groups inside of larger groups. If you and a bunch of friends are participating in a triathlon, you can set up an event for just you and your friends. You can also join the larger event, created by the Triathlon organizers. Your pictures will be included in both, without you needing to take any additional steps, except allowing access to your photos and joining both events.

How are photos added to events? We use Time/Date/GPS within the picture exif data to determine if an image qualifies for an established event. Once you join the event, all your pictures that have been uploaded to Youie, that fit within that temporal and geographic definition, will be included.

Can I Only Upload Photos During the Event? Not at all! You can upload your photos anytime during or after the event. This flexibility means that even if you prefer to review your photos before sharing, you can contribute at your own pace. We have seen photos added days or weeks after the event, its never to late to add them.

How much do I get paid for my pictures? We have set up a 70/30 split on all transactions. Youie retains 30% to cover processing fees from the the Apple and Google app stores. ...Yes, really, they charge 30%!

How am I allowed use downloaded pictures? You can read the specifics of our use license in the User Agreement. In short, your download is for personal use (Social media, sending to friends, printing for your own use). The license does not allow for large commercial uses.

What id the difference between Spending and Earning balance? Spending balance is credits you have added to your account via apple or google store. Earning Balance is credits you have made from the downloads of your pictures. We need your earning balance to meet a minimum threshold ($20 - 2000 credits) before you can withdrawal, but don't worry, we will keep it safe till you sell enough.

Withdrawals Once you accumulate enough for a withdraw, we offer a Stripe integration to move your earned balance out of Youie and into an account of your choice.

Where did my download go? After you complete your purchase, go to your purchase history in your profile button. There you can download the picture; the picture will download directly to your photo roll.
